Wealth Management Options
A number of factors help us identify the best investment strategies for our clients. These include growth objectives, risk tolerance and tax efficiency. Based on these and similar considerations, The Resource Center uses an investment compass model that includes four basic “directions” to optimize decision-making for each individual client:
- Traditional: quarterly activity
- Dynamic: monthly activity
- Tactical: daily or weekly activity
- Specialized solutions: unique options including opportunity zones and interval funds
Traditional (Quarterly Activity)
A traditional investment strategy uses three primary factors to determine asset allocations:
- Risk tolerance
- Time horizon, or how long your money will grow
- Investment objectives
Asset allocations are compatible with a buy-and-hold strategy. Emphasis is placed on diversification to reduce risk and potentially improve portfolio returns.
Dynamic (Monthly Activity)
With a dynamic investment strategy, asset classes are adjusted more frequently as the market shifts. Options may include reducing positions in poorly-performing assets or adding positions in those that are performing well. Because it requires more active management than a buy-and-hold strategy, dynamic investing may include higher fees.
Tactical (Daily or Weekly Activity)
Similar to dynamic investing, a tactical investment strategy offers a more active approach compared to traditional investment options. Wealth managers make short-term shifts in response to day-to-day market performance, taking advantage of pricing anomalies and strong market sectors. Higher fees may be involved due to more active management requirements.
Specialized Investing
Some clients may benefit from alternative investment strategies designed for unique interests or financial goals. A client may be looking to maximize tax efficiency, identify charitable giving opportunities or consider additional factors such as environmental sustainability.
Specialized investing may involve assets that fall outside of traditional categories like stocks, bonds or cash. Examples include private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate and art and antiquities.1
Many factors will determine the best wealth accumulation strategy for you. These include your current life stage, the amount of money you’re setting aside, personal goals, financial objectives and risk tolerance.
At The Resource Center, our financial advisers take the time to understand your needs, in order to help you build an investment strategy you can feel good about. We encourage you to contact us at any time to set up an appointment. Give us a call at 417-882-1800 or reach out online.
