N. Bruce Porter, CEO, author, and Advisor at The Resource Center Inc. in Springfield, Missouri, marks 25 years of service. The Resource Center Inc. was founded in 2001 by Bruce Porter, who brought over a decade of experience in insurance sales and management with a strong belief in truly being a ‘resource’. Dissatisfied with the industry’s shift toward call centers and away from relationship-based guidance, Porter built The Resource Center on three core values: understanding each client’s goals, objectives, and priorities. The firm focused on helping clients protect their retirement and avoid the risks of market volatility. This hands-on, client-focused approach continues to set the agency apart today.
The Resource Center Inc. expanded its offerings in 2004 by establishing an independent property & casualty insurance agency. Although it began on a small scale, The Resource Center Insurance has grown to represent multiple national companies, including Progressive, Auto-Owners, Liberty Mutual, Geico, and Travelers. This extensive range of options empowers clients to compare, tailor, and bundle insurance policies to match their families’ needs for their personal insurance.
Over time, the company developed its own team of professionals, cultivating CPA’s, bankers, Realtors, attorneys, and other relationships. In the early 2010’s, it featured an on-site Medicare Advantage Specialist team, a service that is still thriving today. In 2017, Resource Center Wealth Management was formed after Bruce became an Investment Advisor Representative. Additionally, The Resource Center further expanded into an Estate Planning Partnership with a local attorney in 2018 to provide Long-Term Care, Charitable, and Legacy Planning services to our clients.
After pivoting during the pandemic, in 2022, Bruce had the opportunity to form UR Disability Rep LLC, a Disability Representative Service to assist clients who need guidance with Social Security Disability and other related programs.
Over the past 25 years in Springfield, MO, The Resource Center has grown from its East Sunshine offices to Kingsley, evolving to meet the complex financial and insurance needs of families throughout the Ozarks and the Midwest. The firm’s focus on safety, stability, and practical education is at the heart of its service.
